Lanzarote and the Canary Islands as a whole owe a lot to César Manrique. The artist always fought for sustainable growth and tourism, taking the islands’ tradition and culture as a constant reference.
James del Agua is one of his contributions as an architect, a cave with a concert venue and a restaurant, surrounded by autochthonous plants and the sea.
The House-Museum of the peasant farmer (Casa Museo del Campesino) was also designed by César Manrique. Bright white walls and hints of green, it follows the traditional architecture of the region.
